The Catholic Campus and Advocacy for Justice

In the past thirty years many Catholic colleges and universities have grown strong service outreach and service-learning programs but at the same time advocacy for justice offerings in Catholic higher education are not necessarily as robust and prominent. All the while some vocal episcopal leaders are calling upon engaged Catholics to advocate for ecological sustainability and the rights of laborers, immigrants, refugees, and victims of violence. At a one-day mini-conference conference at Iona College, students and faculty from New York region Catholic colleges and universities will gather to understand more deeply and to mobilize around key advocacy for justice issues.
