Cynthia Wallace, Associate Professor of English at St. Thomas More College in the University of Saskatchewan, recently saw the launch of her book The Literary Lives of Simone Weil (Columbia University Press). From the publisher: “This book tells the story of some of Weil’s most dedicated conversation partners…among them Adrienne Rich, Annie Dillard and Mary Gordon…offering new ways to understand Weil’s legacy and why her provocative wisdom continues to challenge and inspire writers and readers.” Cynthia has agreed to record an interview for the Collegium Book Talks with Authors series. Look for that in early July, 2024 on the Collegium website.
Herbert Medina and Beth Barsotti, who met at the 2019 colloquy at CSB/SJU, will marry this summer in Portland, Oregon. Several Collegium alums will be in the congregation, cheering them on and wiping away the occasional tear.
Elise Moentmann was recently promoted to the role of Vice Provost at the University of Portland.
